Carring on a 25 year tradition «Arhitext» is more than a magazine, may be regarded as a collection publication carrying theoretical weight in the field of architecture, proposing an inter-disciplinary approach by closely following the evolution of arhitecture and its related fields, ilustrating the most important trends, from a perspective that sets the local evolution of architecture within a regional and global context. Each issue is constructed both on a theoretical and a practical theme by means of an inter-disciplinary analysis of concepts and a direct approach of contemporary projects. Through the magazine and cultural events Arhitext design Foundation has become a platform for the exchange of ideas where the critical and theoretical coherent approaches form the necessary critical thinking and highlight the latest trends and cultural values.

2015 // The Beauty and the Beast / Mediated Architectures
This issue aims to research the binary opposition between ''positive'' and ''negative'' values, firmly rooted in almost all the mythical meta-structures, and its proof towards architecture. The balance between aesthetic and grotesque (beauty and macabre) derives rather from the meeting and as a result of the interaction between these opposing values than by abolishing one of the terms from the equation. Issue no. 4/2014 of «Arhitext» is based on three views of analysis on the modified aspects of old mythical structures, as they are discussed today at a theoretical level and expressed on a creative level by artistic projects and by mediated architectures. The cover illustration is a (first) example of a mediated transmission of information. It looks like a simple set of geometric objects arranged in a 6 x 6 matrix. Overlaying and translating horizontally (over these) a transparent foil with a set of opaque, vertical, parallel, equidistant and of constant thickness lines, the human eye perceives the shape transformation of the geometric objects as in an animation – the process is called «scanimation» and is a particular form of the Moiré pattern.
