ROMANIAN DESIGN WEEK APPEARANCES

2018 // Mesange Fromagerie
Mesange is a new specialized cheese shop in Dorobanti area which combines elements of British, French and Italian traditional cheese mongers in a single space, balancing the needs of cold and warm areas in a small surface. Its goal is to create the technical solutions for the storage and handling of dairy products, leaving enough open space for the tasting and enjoyment of a cheese and wine menu.

The combination of materials reflects in the novelty and tradition of cheese making handcraft work with the atmosphere of a local gastrobar, using marble stones, solid wood panels, white tiles, bronze bars, fabrics, and leather hangers. Romanian wood makers have worked on the surfaces of walls, tables and furniture, adding details and a warm feeling to the customer areas, as well as a sense of place and welcoming.

The project has been designed integrally, from its branding and menus, to its spatial elements, finishes, packaging and furniture, looking for a coherent image through the whole.

2018 // Js Garden
The garden is an extension of a previous project ‘J House’ finished in 2016. The new project adds 400 sqm of landscape for a family house in the middle of Bucharest city center, incorporating a sustainable approach to the use of materials, as well as in the mechanics of planting and treatments of the vegetation. The main concept is threefold.

The consolidation of the perimeter with a combination of raw bricks and wood structures, designed with a geometrical pattern which follows the house volume lines.
The new garage and service areas made in raw steel frames and recycled wood boards. The steel frames continue the topological properties of the initial volumes, although lighter in its masses and subtler in its connections with the ground surfaces.

The planting layout and the species selection have been carefully ordered from the nursery in order to create a pleasant volumetric and colorful ensemble, as well as in its ecological properties when planted in masses.
