HISTORY
Ami Lungu reached the woolen toys design after a night butterfly metamorphosis. Initiated as a fashion designer in Bucharest, she won, back in the 2006, an internship at the Yves Saint Laurent creative studios. In 2007 she opened her own studio based in Bucharest and launched her most successful personal fashion project named This is Lu in 2009, a collision between fashion, visual arts, contemporary dance and music. Lu was easily being pointed mostly by french, czech and spanish editors and was invited to join Arcademi (creative elite portal). The project was also featured in the Digital Temple magazine and was invited to exhibit at the Nudage International Design Meeting in Spain. From 2011, Ami Lungu changes art paths as an wool objects artisan. WOOLS & WOLF is the latest craft project created by the romanian designer. Under this name, Ami experiences wool traditional techniques as the needle felting or the japanese textile technique nuno felting.

ROMANIAN DESIGN WEEK APPEARANCES

2014 // PICNIC
Went out of the closed, the personal, intimate space of the closet, moths are throwing a wool party at RDW, that means a public place. The project is about the metamorphosis of spaces from private into public and from personal into collective, by default a very natural and inevitable thing.
